What I’m Thinking About: Growing Pains Include Fighting Resistance to Growth

Getting past the resistance to and irritation about change took a lot of time and effort for everyone involved.

“We don’t have the time to fix that.” How much time do team members spend working around something that needs to be fixed because fixing a problem or inefficiency isn’t a priority? One of the most essential leadership skills is problem-solving.
“Well, that’s just the way we’ve always done it.” In the age of on-demand education, free tutorials online, books on business best practices, and access to business consulting, great leaders are continuous learners.
“We can’t afford to do training.” If you think it’s expensive to train employees, consider how expensive it is to retain untrained employees! Investing in employees is smart leadership.
